IIS (Internet Information Server) 

1.  A window server that allows you to host and manage the website on a Windows system.

2. Web server application and set of the features extension modules.

3. Created by Microsoft for use with Microsoft window. 

4.  Available on window services as well as window clients.

5. IIS 1.0 works on Windows NT (New Technology) and IIS 8.0 works on window server 2012/2008. 

6. It provides a secure easy to manage module and extensible platform for reliably hosting websites, services, and applications.  

7. With IIS 8.0 you store information with users on the internet. 

8. IIS 8.0 a unified web platform that integrates IIS, ASP.net, FTP services, PHP.

9. A group of internet servers (include web or HTTP server and FTP server) with additional capabilities of window NT and window 2000 server operating system. 

10. It includes a set of programs for building and administering websites, search engines, and support for a web-based application that access databases.

Installation Process IIS: 

1. Open server manager. 

2. Manage menu.

 🔘 Select add role and features. 

3. Select role-based and feature-based installation. 

🔘 Select the appropriate server.

🔘 Locally selected by default. 

🔘 Click the next button. 




4. Select web server IIS. 




5. No additional features are needed for IIS, so click Next: 



6. Click Next.  



7. Customize your installation of IIS or accept the default setting that has already been selected for you.

🔘 Click next.   


                 

8. Click install.  



9. When the IIS installation completes, the wizard reflects the installation status. 



10.  Click close to exit the wizard.
